Just a little reminder that the secret santas are due in Jan 8th remember please!

We've had some great submissions so far and I'm hoping there will be no one left out!

So please keep on trucking, and rolling them in for the big reveal this weekend.

Since it was popular enough, I decided I would host it for anyone who is keen to join into the secret santa. Sign ups will be on here on my journal. Just comment with your details and I'll be able to get them out to you.

There are a few rules however, so I will address those as we get to them.

How the Secret Santa Works:

* As explained by =atolm, 'Everyone enters a secret Santa exchange. In this case, submit one of your cetacean characters. Your character will be given to another random person participating and you will be given another random participant whose character you will draw a picture of. So, no one knows who they will get, or who is drawing their character!'
Names will be randomly drawn from a hat and paired up. There will be no favourism or attempts to bribe me. I am keeping this fair for everyone.

* A few members have expressed interest in possibly doing some craft items for the trade that would be sent in the post. In the case of this, I added something to the sign ups to please add if you are willing to accept a gift like this. However, this doesn't mean that any will be made... It's just opening the possibility for some new media in the exchange.

* You will be given requests from the person you get. Please, please, please only draw the characters that they request. It's a real let down to work hard on a picture for another person only to get back something you didn't want, so treat the others taking part how you want to be treated please.

* This is a cetacean exchange. Not an anthro cetacean exchange or a human with cetacean exchange. Your characters (or request) have to be a cetacean please. They can be a fantasy species you created, just as long as they aren't too over the top please (IE: Robotic exoskeletons or rainbow colours).

* If you can't think of characters, or would rather prefer a live cetacean, you can request that as well, as long as you provide a few references. You can also request fictional characters with real ones if you wanted.

* You can have more than one prefered character. However, it's totally up to the artist which of them and how many they will draw for you.

* Cutoffs for sign ups will be the 17th December. Because this has been started late, the deadline is extended to January 8th. So let's consider it a Christmas and New Year exchange!

* Please only join if you WILL and CAN draw a picture on time. It is always upsetting for someone to have done their exchange and to get nothing or something rushed in return. To those that do not uphold their end of the trade, YOU WILL BE NAMED AND SHAMED.

* And finally, the big rule... YOU DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHO YOU HAVE OR SENT IT TO ANYONE BUT MYSELF. This is to prevent it getting out to the person who you got that you are doing their picture. I will send these out to everyone on the 10th January and you'll all get yourself a nice picture to begin 2010 with!!

I haven't updated this for a while, even though I've been back for a while and have been lurking...

So anyway, time for a few updates I believe...

Update One: World of Warcraft

I am quitting WoW on Jan 3rd when my sub expires. I will probably pick it back up again at certain times (and probably when Cataclysm comes out), but for the foreseeable future, I am quitting.
There are three main reasons to it...

1: I am getting a bit bored with the game. I can enjoy it, but there are things that are just the same thing over again that irk me a bit.
2: My art and such suffers slightly. I wanna get back into that, so I hope that giving WoW a good break will assist in that.
3: I can't afford it with my holiday to the USA, UK and Europe next year!

So yeah, that's about that...



Update Two: Shattered Shadows and Art

I honestly think perhaps I made a mistake starting this one so soon after Rings of Time. I am still working on pages when I can, so I haven't given up at all.
I just think I jumped into this a bit too soon, so I've been trying to take it easy and get into it slowly as I feel ready.
I have up to page 17 sketched and several others in a WIP stage.
So I hope next year I can get into it a bit more and get to a good cliffhanger before my holiday in June to August next year.

Artwise, I am working on the art prize for ~thunderess who won the contest back at the start of the year. I have been slack as anything there, and I have no real excuses than my art block and lack of will to do arts.
After that, I am accept a few trades. I don't really do requests anymore, just because they get pushed on the backburner all the time, as with commissions.

I was considering a Christmas picture and may still do so... but at the moment, it's low priority for me.

I have a bunch of pics to fave/comment on. Will try to get to that soon as well.

Also, I am rather bummed out there is no Cetacean Secret Santa this year... But it seems that the original host has dropped off the face of the planet.



Update Three: My 2010 Holiday

It's booked and paid for mostly. So I'll be off from May 31st to August 12th, touring the US and Europe. I'll be catching up with many of my family and friends I met last time and hopefully some newer ones as well!

I'll be visiting places like California, New York, Indianapolois, Florida, Scotland, Sweden and Norway among many others, and meeting some of myt friends like =atolm, ~Artreus and many more!

So that's a highlight upcoming for me!



Update Four: Merry Christmas All!

Very Merry Christmas everyone of my watchers.

Congrats on surviving 2009. It's been one craptacular year... So here's hoping things look up in 2010!!
